Wry Wit

An extemely good tasting beer--never lasts long enough to enter into competition. All my friends love it! Sneaky strong

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 2.5 gallons
Color:
4 HCU (~4 SRM)
Bitterness: 18 IBU
OG: 1.064 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 7.2% v/v (5.6% w/w)
Water: Used tap water from Falcon, CO. system
Grain: 1 lb. Flaked rye
Steep: almost a partial mash: steep the flaked rye for 45 min at 150°F
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.045 3.5 gallons
3 lb. 12 oz. Wheat extract
2 oz. Cane sugar
Added Table sugar to kick up alcohol to ~7%
Hops: .5 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast #3944 Belgian White
Carbonation: Kegged with CO2 8.5 psi # 35°F
