Water: Use hard water add 2ts gypsum
Grain: 9 lb. German Pilsner
1 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
1 lb. Flaked barley
Mash: 68% efficiency
Mash in at 150 for 60 min. sparge at 170
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.043 6.5 gallons
Irish moss at 15 to go in the boil
Hops: 1.0 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 60 min.)
.75 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: WLP830 German Lager Yeast
This yeast is one of the most widely used lager yeasts in the world. Very malty and clean, great for all German lagers, pilsner, oktoberfest, and marzen.
Attenuation: 74-79%
Flocculation: Medium
Optimum Fermentation Temperature: 50-55°F
Alcohol Tolerance: Medium
