Anchor's Away

Anchor Steam is one of my favorite commercial beers. This is my
attempt at a clone.

Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
13 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 50 IBU
OG: 1.048 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 4.1% v/v (3.2% w/w)
Water: 1 tsp. of Gypsum added to mash water.
Grain: 7 lb. British pale
8 oz. American Vienna
8 oz. American crystal 90L
Mash: 80% efficiency
Mash-in at 154 ° - 155 ° and hold for 1 hr.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.040 6 gallons
Irish Moss added in final 10 minutes.
Hops: 1 oz. Northern Brewer (9.0% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Northern Brewer (9.0% AA, 10 min.)
1 oz. Northern Brewer (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs Pitchable San Francisco
Log: Brewed 6/14/98
Ferment at 62 ° to 65 ° for 1 week
Rack into Secondary and cold condition for 2 weeks.
