Your Mother's Mustache

A simple, down & dirty American-style beer to drink ice cold with hot Maryland-style steamed crabs.

Beer: Your Mother's Mustache Style: American Lager
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 14 IBU
OG: 1.046 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Grain: 4 oz. American crystal 20L
Steep: Place grains in one gallon of cold water; bring just a boil over 30 to 40 minutes. Remove grains just prior to boil.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.114 2 gallons
5 lb. Light dry malt extract
Add .5 to 1 tsp Irish Moss 15 minutes before end of boil.
Hops: 1.25 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 60 min.)
1. oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Saaz (aroma)
Yeast: use any lager yeast, liquid or dry
Carbonation: 2/3 cup corn sugar for priming
