Sticke Altbier

Now that the weather has finally reached near lagering conditions in my basement I have decided to brew a small batch of alt. Not my most favorite style but I wanted a good everyday beer and to use up some leftover chocolate and dark crystal without doing another dark beer (just did a porter).

50 HCU (~22 SRM)
Bitterness: 55 IBU
OG: 1.065 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 6.9% v/v (5.4% w/w)
Water: Spring water
Grain: 0.5 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. German Munich
0.5 lb. American crystal 60L
0.25 lb. British chocolate
Mash: 80% efficiency
Single infusion mash / steep at 150F for 45 minutes
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.082 3 gallons
4 lb. Light dry malt extract
1 tsp Irish Moss @20 minutes
Hops: 2 oz. Perle (8% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 1007 German Ale in a 1 quart starter
Carbonation: Corn sugar
Tasting: TBD
