German/American Alt(ernative)

This is a combination of a German alt and an American Lager, for the Rye And Corn do not abide by the Reinheitsgebot Law

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 2.5 gallons
Color:
21 HCU (~12 SRM)
Bitterness: 26 IBU
OG: 1.047 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: No special treaatments-just tap water from the Falcon, Colorado water system.
Grain: 12 oz. German Munich
6 oz. Flaked rye
6 oz. Flaked corn
4 oz. American crystal 40L
Steep: All specialty grains and Flaked grains will be steeped, starting at cold water and ending with first wisps of steam appearing.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.034 3.5 gallons
2 lb. 8 oz. Amber malt extract
Will use both Irish Moss and Polyclar for clearing.
Hops: .25 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast #1338 European Ale(if I can get it--if not then Wyeast #1007 German Ale)

Carbonation: 2.8 volumes Keg: 13.3 psi @ 36°F
