Wolfgang Von Krauthammer Ale

Braut's on the grill and a Krauthammer in the other! It doesn't get any better than this!!
This is a light crisp and refreshing ale. Betcha you can't have just one!

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.0 gallons
Color:
7 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.043 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 4.6% v/v (3.6% w/w)
Water: Tap Water
Grain: 1 lb. German Vienna
4 oz. American crystal 10L
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
8 oz. Flaked wheat
Steep: Grain bag went in at tap temp and stayed in until water reached 165° teabag the grain sack 3 or 4 times and remove.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.033 6.5 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Wheat extract
Irish Moss @ 15 to go in the boil
Hops: .5 oz. Hallertauer Mittelfruh (5% AA, 60 min.)
1.0 oz. Hallertauer Mittelfruh (5% AA, 8 min.)
1.0 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 8 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer Mittelfruh (5% AA, 2 min.)
1.0 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 2 min.)
Yeast: WLP 029 Kolsch Ale
Log: I fermented this ale at 65° until Primary fermantation was done. racked it to the secondary for 10 days @ 36°
Carbonation: Keg at 40 psi for one hour let of pressure and then set at 10 psi for a couple days, then adjust as needed.
Tasting: Very refreshing on a hot day! SMOOTH very lager like, I can't beleive that this style hasn't caught on here in the states.
