ROKSNGR brew does it again with another one of their "outta my ass" recipes for your drinking pleasure! This time it's Summer Brew Ale. Check it out!

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.0 gallons
Color:
10 HCU (~7 SRM)
Bitterness: 45 IBU
OG: 1.059 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 5.1% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Water: 5 Gallons Calistoga Bottled Water, no treatment.
Grain: 1.0 lb. American crystal 40L
1.0 lb. American crystal 120L
Steep: cold steep until 160 degrees
Boil: 70 minutes SG 1.085 3.5 gallons
8.0 lb. Light malt extract
1 tsp irish moss
Hops: 2.0 oz. Cascade (6.9% AA, 60 min.)
1.0 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 45 min.)
1.0 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: 1 package Safale ale yeast, rehydrated
Log: brew date: 5/24/03 Bottled 6/4/03
Carbonation: 3/4 C Corn Sugar
Tasting: I added a cut up pear (w/o seeds) and 1/2 a lemon (rind only) in the primary fermentation.
The taste is bitter, strong, caramel-ly, & slightly lemony. It reminds me of a hefeweizen. But more bitter. This is first day tasting.
