Bitterness: 22 IBU
OG: 1.059 FG: 1.009
Alcohol: 6.4% v/v (5.0% w/w)
Water: All water was charcoal filtered with .25 tsp phosphoric acid (85%) added to strike water
and .5 tsp. phosphoric acid (85%)added to sparge to attain 5.4 pH.
Grain: 8 lb. American 2-row
8 oz. Wheat malt
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 78% efficiency
Mash all grains at 150°F for 60 minutes. Sparge with 17 qts. 170°F water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.049 6 gallons
1 lb. Rice extract
1 tsp. Irish moss (rehydrated 15 min.) added to boil at :45. 1 tsp. gelatin
added to secondary.
Hops: .75 oz. Hallertauer (6.3% AA, 60 min.)
1.5 oz. Northern Brewer (aroma)
Yeast: White Lab San Francisco Lager pitchable yeast used.
Log: Brewed 11/21/98. Primary: 67°F X 7 days. Secondary: 62°F for 6 days.
Crashed for 3 days at 33°F. Kegged 12/12/98.
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Keg: 9.7 psi @ 33°F
Tasting: Not bad for Panther Piss.
