Corona Light Clone

Use only Brown rice and rinse it until the water is clear. Leave it in water for at least 15 minutes before you put it into the boiling wort.

Beer: Corona Light Clone Style: American Light Lager
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 11 IBU
OG: 1.043 FG: 1.005
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: Use Good tap water or Spring water adding one teaspoon of Gypsun to the wort before it boils.
Grain: 8 oz. American crystal 20L
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
12 oz. Corn (flaked))
8 oz. Rice (raw)
Steep: Place the Crystal and Cara-Pils into a fine mesh grain bag and place it into the cold water. When the water starts boiling - remove it.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.079 3 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
1.5 lb. Corn sugar
one teaspoon of Irish Moss can be added for clarification the last 10 minutes of the boil. One package of Gelatin can be added to the Secondary Fermentation vat.
Hops: 1 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Windsor or Nottingham
Log: Leave in Primary for at least 10 days. Leave in Secondary for at least 15 days. This beer is ready for drinking in eight weeks. -
Carbonation: one cup dextrose to be used as a primer.
Tasting: This beer is very much like the Mexican "Corona Light" and the El Salvador "Campeon Light" cervezas. If you want to give this beer a slight "woodsy" flavor, you can do so by adding four ounces of Oak, or Beech, or Pecan Wood chips to the Secondary for 15 days. -
