Bitterness: 22 IBU
OG: 1.066 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 6.1% v/v (4.8% w/w)
Grain: 8 oz. German Munich
8 oz. American crystal 40L
4 oz. American chocolate
1 lb. Melanoidin
Steep: Steep grains for 30 mins at 155°
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.061 6.5 gallons
6 lb. 12 oz. Light malt extract
3 lb. 5 oz. Amber malt extract
Added Irish Moss with 15 mins. left in boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Tettnanger (aroma)
Yeast: Used White Labs WL833 Bavarian. Pitch from vial into cooled wort.
Log: Brewed 12/26/05. Held 14 days in Primary @ 55°F, 48hr rest, then racked to secondary and dropped temps 5°F a day until we reached 35°F. Lagered for 10 weeks, warm to room temps for 48hrs, then bottled.
Carbonation: Primed with 1/2# Extra Light DME.
Tasting: Sample at bottling: color and aroma is excellent, waitng on carbonation.
