Pale Lager

Just another easy drinking light lager.

3 HCU (~3 SRM)
Bitterness: 25 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.4% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: 30 gallons of water was drawn up the night
before brewing. Added 1 tbsp. CaCl2. Water
was at 79C for strike temp.
Grain: 15 lb. German Pilsner
1.5 lb. German Vienna
1.5 lb. German Munich
Mash: 92% efficiency
Dough in grains and temp stablized at 65°C.
Hold 15 min. and then add 4 gallons of water.
Temp stablized at 67 to 68°C. Hold 45 minutes,
recirculate and begin sparge.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.048 13 gallons
Hops: 3.5 oz. Liberty (4% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Liberty (4% AA, 10 min.)
2 oz. Liberty (aroma)
Yeast: One carboy was fermented on a cake of American
Ale yeast from previous batch. Other was
fermented with Czech Pils yeast (2278)about
750 mls. both carboys were given a good shot
of 02.
