Simply Saaz

A clean, fresh golden Pilsner with strong Saaz flavours and aroma. Vienna
and Crystal malts used for flavour and colour. NZ Green Bullet added for bitterness.
Saaz used also for dry hopping in fermentation period to add crispness and bite.

10 HCU (~7 SRM)
Bitterness: 28 IBU
OG: 1.062 FG: 1.017
Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Water: Christchurch NZ - Tap Water
Grain: 150g German Vienna
50g German Munich
Steep: Vienna & Munich grain ground in blender then added to water prior to
boil. Water then run through sieve and boil started.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.080 12 liters
3kg Light malt extract
Hops: 15g NZ Green Bullet (12% AA, 60 min.)
20g Saaz (3.75% AA, 25 min.)
20g Saaz (3.75% AA, 5 min.)
20g Saaz (aroma)
Yeast: Safale Dryed Yeast
Log: 20g of Saaz used for dry hopping, added in primary fermenter.
Carbonation: One level teaspoon of white sugar per 700 ml bottle.
