Skid Mark Nut Brown

This is the second brewing of this recipe, with some fine tuning of ingredients. Lusciously delicious.

39 HCU (~19 SRM)
Bitterness: 53 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.013
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: Carbon filtered tap water. 1 tsp. CaCl in Mash. (Our water here is not very high in Ca, and the addition of CaCl helps accentuate the malts.)
Grain: 8.5 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. American victory
.5 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
.5 lb. American chocolate
Mash: 75% efficiency
Single step at 156°
Boil: 1.25 minutes SG 1.039 7.25 gallons
Irish Moss last 15 min.
Hops: 15g Northern Brewer (7.2% AA, 60 min.)
17g Northern Brewer (7.2% AA, 45 min.)
39g Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.)
26g Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
1g Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: This beer just isn't right without WYeast 1272 (American Ale II). It really gives it the Nutty character that makes this brew a keeper (or drinker)
Log: Dry hop with 1 oz. Fuggles
Carbonation: 2.5 volumes Corn Sugar: 118g for 4.75 gallons @ 68°F
