Little Doggy

Just switched base malt to Marris Otter(Hugh Baird) and the results were awsome!!!!!Even my wife gave it a two thumbs up!!!!!!!!!

Beer: Little Doggy Style: English Brown
Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
45 HCU (~20 SRM)
Bitterness: 30 IBU
OG: 1.058 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Water: 3 tablespoons of Gypsum in the mash. 1/2 teaspoon irish moss at 15 min.
Grain: 8.0 lb. British pale
4.3 oz. American victory
4.3 oz. Belgian biscuit
1.0 lb. British crystal 50-60L
4.3 oz. British chocolate
Mash: 70% efficiency
Mashed at 154 f. for 60 min. also added 2.0 ounces of Tettnang in with the mash!
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.048 6 gallons
.75 lb. Brown sugar
put in 2 cups dark brown sugar into boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Cluster (6.8% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (4.2% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (aroma)
Yeast: used Safale S-04 dry yeast. medium attenuation!
Log: brewed on 12/31/2001. primed and bottled on 1/5/2002. fermentation temp. 64 f.
Carbonation: primed with 3/4 cup corn sugar.
Tasting: This is the best beer i have ever brewed. a fast bottle conditioning beer! Earthy,Woody undertones with a light malty finish! hop schedule is right on the money! have been told by a buddy that he can't find anything on the market this good!!!!!
