Water: Tap water, no treatment
Grain: 1 lb. British pale
1 lb. 8 oz. British mild
4 oz. Belgian aromatic
4 oz. American crystal 120L
4 oz. Belgian Special B
1 lb. Flaked oats
4 oz. Debittered black malt
Mash: 50% efficiency
Used 4.5 qts of water. Mashed in @ 156°, temp of mash at 45 minutes was 153°. Mashed for 75 minutes. Sparged with 3 gallons of 170° water.
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.032 6 gallons
2 lb. 8 oz. Light dry malt extract
Added hops w/ 60 minutes left in boil. Added Irish moss w/ 15 minutes remaining.
Hops: .5 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: WLP002 English Ale, pitched straight from vial.
Log: Fermented for 10 days in plastic @ 68 degrees
Racked to keg at day 10.
Carbonation: Force carbed in keg
Tasting: Was drinking the beer 11 days after brewing. 002 floccs extemely well, so beer is very clear. Very drinkable, great mouthfeel. Good session beer.
