Midder #6

Supposed to be my regular mild bitter, but had tremendous efficiency (or mis-weighed something). Always a winner.

Bitterness: 32 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: Savannah tap, similar to Munich.
Grain: 6 lb. Marris Otter
1 lb. British crystal 50-60L
.25 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 92% efficiency
Batch sparge 3.7 gallons @ 156°F, then 3 gallons @ 170°F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.042 6 gallons
IM at 15 minutes
Hops: 1 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 55 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (7.5% AA, 20 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (7.5% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: S-04, 3rd gen
Log: 9 days primary 68F, 3 days secondary then kegged for my O'fest party.
Carbonation: Med-low carbonation
Tasting: Had acetaldehyde notes after primary, so waited to keg for a few more days in which it cleared very nicely. Always a great beer with a few tweaks each time I brew, though somehow I ended at over 1.050 OG on a typical 1.040 recipe this time. Gotta love the Marris Otter toasty notes and EKG is really floral in this batch.
