Calebs Creek Tennessee Bitter

A nice summer session beer. Pretty much the 'house ale' in my home. Enjoy.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
13 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 28 IBU
OG: 1.039 FG: 1.040
Alcohol: -
Water: Get a good hard water treatment going; use gypsum and/or epsom salts to get it where you like it.
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 40L
Steep: This is really a micro-mash @ 148° F for 90 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.071 3 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1.5 oz. Mt. Hood (4.0% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (6.6% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (6.6% AA, 10 min.)
Yeast: 1 Qt. starter, White Labs Burton Ale Yeast
Log: Ferment @ 68° F
Carbonation: 1.2 volumes Keg: 1.1 psi @ 50°F
Tasting: Serve @ approx 50° F. Mmm, mmm good.
