22 HCU (~13 SRM)
Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.013
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: No Water Treatment
Grain: 3.90kg Maris Otter
390g British mild
390g Cara-Amber
200g Weyerman smoked malt
200g British crystal 50-60L
48g British black patent
Mash: 75% efficiency
Mashed at 67°C for an hour and sparged with 82°C water until we had about 25.5L in the boil kettle. During the sparge, we added 14 gr Fuggles (4.7%AA) whole hops as a First Wort Hopping
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.045 26 liters
At the start of the boil, 28 gr Fuggles were added as the main bittering charge. 60 minute boil, and the next hop addition of 14 gr Fuggles was made at 5 minutes left.
Hops: 45.4g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
17.0g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: WYeast 1084 Irish Ale yeast
Carbonation: 1.8 volumes Corn Sugar: 79.2g for 21 liters @ 20°C
