calanglo Ale

This Ale was originally made with a combination of leftover hops. It was one of the best tasting ales, home or otherwise I have ever tasted. The recipe was posted 7 years ago, but does not appear any longer. This is a repost.

13 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 37 IBU
OG: 1.059 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 6.2% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Water: filtered
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 20L
1 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: rested 2o minutes @ 160 degrees
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.074 4 gallons
6 lb. Light dry malt extract
none.
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Perle (8% AA, 15 min.)
.1 oz. Mt. Hood (aroma)
.1 oz. Perle (aroma)
Yeast: whitelabs 1056 california ale
Log: 07/08/2006.
Carbonation: 3.5 oz corn sugar
Tasting: This ale turns out just a bit darker than predicted. slightly red in color. The combination of hops gives it its own special spicy nature.
