Hopus Maximus IPA

This beer turned out just fantastic!!! I would suggest adding 3/4-1 lb of 2-row to help the PM eff.

Beer: Hopus Maximus IPA Style: American Pale Ale
Type: Partial mash Size: 5 gallons
Color:
44 HCU (~20 SRM)
Bitterness: 49 IBU
OG: 1.084 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 8.3% v/v (6.5% w/w)
Water: None - Awesome Tap Water Here!!!!
Grain: 1 lb. American victory
1 lb. 8 oz. American crystal 90L
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 55% efficiency
Mashed all grains @ 158 for 45 min. No Sparging.
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.168 2.5 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
3 lb. 3 oz. Light dry malt extract
Whirlfloc tab @ 15 min and Wyeast yeast nutrient (1 tsp).
Hops: 2 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 1272 - No Starter :( Pitched @ 69 Degrees. A Starter would have made this beer much cleaner.
Log: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BLOW OFF TUBE!!!!!!!!!
Carbonation: 1 Cup of Corn Sugar for Priming - Had great carbonation after 2 weeks. This beer needs to condidtion for at least 1 month after botteling before you can start to get the full taste - WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!!!
