Raven Pale Ale

Beer: Raven Pale Ale Style: American Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
16 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 41 IBU
OG: 1.060 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 6.2% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Water: 5 gallons bottled spring water
Grain: 8 oz. German Munich
4 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
4 oz. Belgian CaraVienne
1 lb. Flaked wheat
Steep: Steep Flaked Wheat in one gallon water for 30 minutes at 135 degrees. Add 1/2 gallon water and steep Munich, Caramunich, and Caravienne for 30 minutes at 155 degrees.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.151 2 gallons
6 lb. Breiss Golden Light malt extract
1.4 lb. Alexander's Wheat LME
Add 1 tsp Irish Moss last 15 minutes of the boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6.4% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Nugget (10.3% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (dry hopped) (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast American Ale 1056
Log: 1 week in primary fermenter @ 65 degrees. Added 1 oz Cascade hops to secondary fermenter for 2 weeks at 65 degrees.
Carbonation: 5 PrimeTabs per bottle. Tasted after 2 weeks.
Tasting: Great Cascade flavor and aroma. Using a hop bag may have resulted in 36 actual IBU's.
