Bitter Bitch Ale

This is the third beer I've brewed. A definite dry grapefruity finish.

Type: Extract Size: 5 gallons
Color:
19 HCU (~11 SRM)
Bitterness: 40 IBU
OG: 1.056 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 6.0% v/v (4.7% w/w)
Water: Good ole Cushing, Maine well water!!
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.281 1 gallons
6 lb. 6 oz. Amber malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Nottihgham dry ale
Log: Primary one week @ 65 degrees
Bottled stored two weeks @ 65 degrees
Stored @ 50 degrees
Carbonation: 2/3 cup dextose
Tasting: Dry, grapefruity bitter taste. A good thrist quencher.
2-24-01 the grapefruit bitterness has mellowed. Still bitter without
grapefruit.
