Summer Lawn

Just a simple summer lawnmower beer.

Beer: Summer Lawn Style: American Pale Ale
Type: All grain Size: 5.25 gallons
Color:
11 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 35 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.5% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: I usually use bottled spring water.
Grain: 9 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. American crystal 40L
Mash: 75% efficiency
mash @ 152 for 60 minutes in 12 quarts of water. Mash out @ 170 for
10 minutes. Sparge with 4 gallons of 168 water, collecting 6.5
gallons of wort.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.042 6.50 gallons
Add 1 Tsp of Irish moss @ 20 minutes
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: White labs CA yeast or Wyeast 1056 American Ale
Log: Ferment 68-72 for 7 days in primary, 7 days in secondary.
Carbonation: Bottle with 5 oz of priming sugar. Let stand 1-2 weeks, cut the grass and enjoy a couple.
