British American IPA

A hybrid IPA- British grains and yeast and goldings and cascade hops. There are some British breweries that use American Hops now.

Bitterness: 66 IBU
OG: 1.064 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 6.3% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Water: gypsum added to well water.
Grain: 11 lb. British pale
.5 lb. Wheat malt
1 lb. German Munich
.5 lb. British Carastan light
.5 lb. British crystal 70-80L
Mash: 75% efficiency
Infusion mash at 154 for 1 hr, mashout at 170 for 20 min. sparge with 6 gal 180 deg water.
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.048 8 gallons
irish moss at 15 min.
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (7% AA, 90 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (4.5% AA, 90 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (7% AA, 25 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (4.5% AA, 25 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (7% AA, 5 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (4.5% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: wyeast 1275, Thames Vly, second gen, washed and pitched to a 500 ml starter.
Log: brewed 9/29/10. ferment at 68 deg for 2 week. keg- naturally primed. plan to serve through my beer engine.
Carbonation: kegged with corn sugar, 1/2 cup.
