Brewer: John Alden Email: jmalden@home.com

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
25 HCU (~14 SRM)
Bitterness: 56 IBU
OG: 1.061 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 6.4% v/v (5.1% w/w)
Water: Cold, hard tap water untreated
Grain: .44 lb. American Munich
.55 lb. American crystal 20L
.11 lb. Roasted barley
Boil: 65 minutes SG 1.051 6 gallons
.6 lb. Brown sugar
7.5 lb. Light malt extract
Irish Moss added in last 10 minutes of boil.
Hops: 30g Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
20g Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 30 min.)
25g Cascade (6% AA, 5 min.)
25g Willamette (5% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: Nottingham ale yeast
Carbonation: Forced carbonation in the keg
Tasting: This is a full bodied ale with a pleasant fruity character, but it
misses the mark as an IPA. Nex time, I'll up the Northern
Brewer hops to bring it more in line with the bitterness that
a good IPA should have.
