Slippin' Away IPA

Calling this one Slippin' Away because that's what has happened to
my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers' 2006 season after a humiliating loss
to the hated Oakland Raiders on 10/29/06 - leaving the Steelers with
a mere 2 wins VS 5 losses at this point - playoffs almost hopeless.

Type: Partial mash Size: 5.8 gallons
Color:
29 HCU (~15 SRM)
Bitterness: 73 IBU
OG: 1.062 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 6.1% v/v (4.8% w/w)
Water: Used all Pennsylvania Mountain Bottle Spring Water
Grain: 1 lb. 2 oz. British pale
8 oz. American crystal 40L
10 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
3 oz. Roasted barley
Mash: 55% efficiency
Single infusion mash at approximately 156°F for 1 hour.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.052 7 gallons
7 lb. Light dry malt extract
1/4 oz. Irish Moss powder added with about 18 minutes left in boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: 1 pkg Wyeast Activator Rogue PacMan liquid yeast.
Log: Brewed 10/28/06. Will ferment 1 week in Primary & 1 week in
Secondary. Fermentation temp should be between 67-70°F.
Carbonation: Will force carbonate in corny keg.
