Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
74 HCU (~29 SRM)
Bitterness: 73 IBU
OG: 1.066 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 6.1% v/v (4.8% w/w)
Grain: 4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
8 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
8 oz. Belgian CaraVienne
1 lb. 4 oz. Belgian Special B
Steep: Steep grains at 155F for 45 minutes.
Remove spent grains and add Malt Extract and Bittering hops, boil for 1 hour.
(Use 1 gallon of water in separate pot for all hop additions to be combined when boil is complete)
At 30 minutes add 2nd addition
Add Irish Moss last 5 minutes of boil
Add aroma hops last 2 minutes of boil
Cool and pitch yeast
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.109 3 gallons
8.00 lb. Light malt extract
Irish Moss last 5 minutes of boil.
Hops: 2 oz. Chinook (10.8% AA, 60 min.)
1.75 oz. Chinook (10.8% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Chinook (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs California Ale Yeast or Dry English Ale Yeast
