Snakebite IPA

This is my first IPA. It will be quite a while before it is ready. It is going to be racked until late spring with a bit of oak chips or into a oak wine cask if I can find one!

Beer: Snakebite IPA Style: India Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
11 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 61 IBU
OG: 1.085 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 8.7% v/v (6.8% w/w)
Water: Philly water.
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 10L
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: Steeped both bags in 2 gal. until boiling and then pulled off heat and let set for another half hour or so. Sparge grains with 3/4 gallons of 150 deg. water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.142 3 gallons
9 lb. Light dry malt extract
1/2 tsp Irish Moss
Hops: 3 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: EasYeast American Ale Liquid.
Log: Dry hopped with 1 1/2oz. of Cascade flowers.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup dextrose
