OG: 1.081 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 8.5% v/v (6.7% w/w)
Water: 1 tsp gypsum in the boil
Grain: 2 lb. American 2-row
8 oz. Wheat malt
2 lb. American Munich
1 lb. American victory
8 oz. American crystal 60L
4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: steep grain at 155° for 1 hour
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.101 4 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. 4 oz. Honey
1 tsp of irish moss last 20 minutes of the boil
Hops: .5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Tomahawk (14.2% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Tomahawk (14.2% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 5 min.)
.5 oz. Tomahawk (14.2% AA, 5 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 1 min.)
.5 oz. Tomahawk (14.2% AA, 1 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: 1056 Wyeast american ale from previous batch
Log: All hops were fresh. the aroma hops were added after 7 days in the fermentor. left in fermentor for 3 weeks before bottling. brewed on 5/5/01 bottled on 5/23/01. had the first bottle on 5/27/01 this is the best IPA I have ever tasted!
