Attempt at getting a similar style to Hen's Tooth

14 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 35 IBU
OG: 1.059 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Water: Plain ye olde Canberra water
Grain: 4.5kg British pale
120g Belgian aromatic
300g British crystal 70-80L
250g Torrified wheat
Mash: 70% efficiency
Mashed at 66-56° Underlet which I highly recomend... Used a courser that normal crush which led to a lovely sparge but slightly less (5%) efficient mash than normal
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.057 23 liters
445g Lyle's Golden syrup
Whirlfloc (whirlpooling: discover it!) at t-15minutes
Hops: 20g Target (7.5% AA, 95 min.)
9g Challenger (8% AA, 95 min.)
10g Challenger (8% AA, 15 min.)
20g Fuggles (5.7% AA, 15 min.)
15g Challenger (8% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast British ale 1335 smacker... yeah should of made a starter but was lazy... might come back to bite me but meh...
