Small Mouth Ale

An attemp at Bass (hence the name). Not the same but good on its own.

Beer: Small Mouth Ale Style: English Pale Ale
Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
18 HCU (~11 SRM)
Bitterness: 31 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.7% w/w)
Water: Used distilled water with .5 oz. Burtons Water Salts
Grain: 9 lb. British pale
1 lb. British crystal 60-75L
Mash: 70% efficiency
Step mash, 105 for 15, 122 for 15 and 150 for 30 minutes. 168 for ten and then sparge for 60 minutes.
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.039 6.5 gallons
Start heating kettle with 1/2 gallon liquor. 1/4 tsp. irish moss at ten minutes.
Hops: .66 oz. Kent Goldings (6% AA, 60 min.)
.66 oz. Kent Goldings (6% AA, 20 min.)
.66 oz. Kent Goldings (6% AA, 7 min.)
Yeast: Pitchable slurry wyeast 1275.
Log: Primary at 65 for five days. Secondary for ten. Both at 67. Bottle aged for a month.
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Honey: 3.50 oz. for 5 gallons @ 70°F
Mix to one tsp. per bottle
Tasting: Very nice!
