3.6 oz. American chocolate
1.0 lb. Rolled oats
Mash: 85% efficiency
single mash of 1.5 hrs between 148&158 deg.f.
Boil: 60m minutes SG 1.037 17.0 gallons
2.0 lb. Honey
Hops: .5 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 30 min.)
1.0 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: 1qt calif. ale yeast #wlp001 farmed a saved from last batch of
pale ale
Log: 12/1/2002-mashed,boiled,cooled and pitched.honey was added after boil
and before running wort cooler."If you add honey wile still boiling
it could possibly dammage the honey"
fermentation started within 1.5hr.
o.g. was 1038@83deg
fermenting temp. was kept around 63deg.
12/8/02-racked to secondary s.g. was now 1008@60deg
12/22/03- primed with blackberry ext. and honey s.g. mow at 1006@62deg
1/5/03- tasteing day-nutty and clear with a mild berry hint. narrly
Carbonation: 2.5 volumes Honey: 14.1 oz. for 15 gallons @ 62°F
Tasting: seems like every body that tryed it liked it
