BigSky Montana

This is a very successful extract/grain clone of a wonderful Montana Nut Brown Ale - Ignore the specific gravity readings the program put in strange figures for some reason.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
75 HCU (~29 SRM)
Bitterness: 14 IBU
OG: 1.062 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 6.0% v/v (4.7% w/w)
Water: All water is Kansas City tap water that was pre-boiled, no other treatment.
Grain: 8 oz. DWC Caramunich
8 oz. UK Chocolate
4 oz. Carapils
2 oz. DWC Biscuit
2 oz. DWC Special B
Steep: Specialty grains were steeped in a grain bag at 160 degrees for 30 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.104 3 gallons
6.6 lb. Northwestern Gold Malt Syrup
1 lb. Muntons Wheat DME
All hops were pellet in muslin bag
Hops: 1 oz. Northern Brewer (6.7% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast(large)#1056-American Ale Yeast
Log: Initial fermentation appx. 4-5 days - transfer to secondary for 5-7 days to clarify - add 9/10's cup of dextrose boiled in 2 cups of water to prime - bottle and wait for 10-14 days - ENJOY!
Tasting: This is a wonderful smooth, rich and malty brew with a beautiful head. I really love the taste of this beer...let me know if you do too!
