Bitterness: 16 IBU
OG: 1.056 FG: 1.019
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: 1 tsp burton water salts added prior to boil
Grain: 9.0 oz. American crystal 10L
5.0 oz. American crystal 135l
Steep: Grains steeped at 150F for 20 mins then sparged with 1 quart boiled water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.141 2 gallons
6.00 lb. Light dry malt extract
1 tsp Irish Moss added to boil for last 15 min
Hops: 1.0 oz. Northdown (7.4% AA, 60 min.)
0.25 oz. Northdown (7.4% AA, 15 min.)
0.5 oz. Perle (7.6% AA, 15 min.)
.25 oz. Northdown (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast British Ale yeast 1098
Log: Fermented in primary 7 days at 70F. Fermented in secondary for 4 weeks at 70F.
Carbonation: Primed with 1.1 quarts of wort taken from the boil prior to adding the yeast
Tasting: Smooth, light English Brown Ale that is a nice drinking beer for watching football games. The one to have when your having more than one!
