Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Grain: 8 oz. American crystal 20L
8 oz. American crystal 60L
4 oz. British chocolate
Steep: Steep Grains for 30 min. at 150-160° in 6 gal. water
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.037 6.5 gallons
5 lb. Light dry malt extract
Adjusted boil to 6.5 gal. 1/2 & 1/2 in two 5 gal. pots. Cooled with
immersion chiller.
Hops: .5 oz. Kent Goldings (5.7% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5.7% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5.7% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 1087 in 1 quart starter
Log: Primary fermentation for 5 days in glass at 72°. Actual O.G. 1.046.
Secondary fermentation for 10 days in glass at 72°.
Carbonation: Prime with 3/4c corn sugar.
Tasting: Chocolate in the front and finishes with a smooth bitterness.
