Beer: Mutual of Omaha Mild Kingdom Style: English Light Mild
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
24 HCU (~13 SRM)
Bitterness: 24 IBU
OG: 1.039 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 4.0% v/v (3.1% w/w)
Water: Bottled drinking water (reverse osmosis.)
Grain: 6 oz. American crystal 60L
2 oz. American chocolate
2 oz. Flaked barley
Steep: Grains steeped in 1.5 gallons of water at 170°F for 15 minutes. Strain
grains out and rinse with 2 gallons boiling water which is added to the
1.5 gallons already in the brewpot.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.055 3.5 gallons
3 lb. Amber malt extract
2 lb. Light malt extract
Flaked barley used to aid in head retention.
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast #1098 (British ale) -- no starter.
Log: In primary 7 days at 65°F. Racked to secondary for 7 more days. Bottled
and aged at 60°F for 21 days.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup corn sugar used for priming.
Tasting: Smooooooooooooooooooooooth.
