Fug Light

Just trying to make something light in color, but, still with a little body and alcohol bite for some non-dark beer drinking tailgating buddies. Go Steelers!!!!

Type: Extract Size: 5 gallons
Color:
8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 25 IBU
OG: 1.061 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 6.6% v/v (5.1% w/w)
Water: 6.5 U.S. Gallons of Bottled Spring water in boil
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.047 6.5 gallons
6 lb. Light dry malt extract
1 lb. Rice extract
Added 8 oz. Malto-Dextrin for body & 1 lb. Rice Syrup solids to boil along with dry malt. Added 1/4 oz. Irish Moss with 20 minutes left in boil for clarification.
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs WLP008 East Coast Ale
Log: Brewed 8/9/03.
Carbonation: 5 oz. Corn Sugar at bottling time.
Tasting: Won't know until about mid-September.
