Frog Slobber

This is meant to be a clone of Young's Special Bitter. I was shooting for an OG around 1047, but seem to have overshot it a bit. Oh well.

Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
12 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 41 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Water: Nothing special
Grain: 7.5 lb. British pale
10.625 oz. American crystal 60L
6.875 oz. Flaked barley
Mash: 80% efficiency
8:30 AM, dumped 11 Qts of water (at 175°) over grains in a cooler. It settled to about 154°. Left it and took the kiddies to their soccer games. Got home at 11:30, was fully converted.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.047 5.5 gallons
No junk in the boil.
Hops: 1.25 oz. Fuggles (4.1% AA, 60 min.)
.875 oz. Kent Goldings (6.2% AA, 60 min.)
.375 oz. Kent Goldings (6.2% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White 002 British Ale
Log: After boil and chilling, pitched yeast into 5 Gal of wort at 1052 gravity (perhaps the really long mash yielded a higher than expected gravity)
