Three Kings Better Bitter

Bitterness: 26 IBU
OG: 1.043 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 4.5% v/v (3.5% w/w)
Grain: 12 oz. British crystal 50-60L
Steep: Add Crystal malt to 1 gallon water at 150°F. Steep for 30 minutes; then sparge with 1/2 gallon water at 170°F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.085 2.5 gallons
4.5 lb. Light dry malt extract
Add water to make 2.5 gallons and bring to boil. Add hops as listed; and add Irish moss at 15 minutes.
Hops: .75 oz. Fuggles (3.3% AA, 60 min.)
.75 oz. Kent Goldings (4.1% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Fuggles (3.3% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (6.3% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (6.3% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 1098 British ale yeast
Carbonation: Prime with either 3/4 cup corn sugar or 1-1/4 cups light DME.
