23 HCU (~13 SRM)
Bitterness: 28 IBU
OG: 1.048 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.7% w/w)
Water: Added 1 Tsp Gypsum to water.
Grain: 2.00 lb. American crystal 40L
Steep: Steep grains at 155° for 30 min.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.096 2.5 gallons
4.73 lb. Light dry malt extract
Irish Moss added at 45 min.
Hops: 1.0 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
0.50 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
0.50 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 1028 London Ale
Log: Fermented at 67° for 7 days. Racked to secondary for 3 weeks. Dry hopped in secondary.
Carbonation: Forced Carbonated in keg.
Tasting: Nice easy drinking beer. May try to reduce the sharpness of the hops by dry hopping at end of boil instead of in secondary. Not a very bitter beer since my wife will also drink it. May add a bit more hops at the start of the boil.
