This beer turned out better than expected..If you like black beers you'll have to try this one.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.1 gallons
Color:
52 HCU (~22 SRM)
Bitterness: 20 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Grain: 4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
8 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
4 oz. British chocolate
2 oz. British black patent
Steep: Steeped grains in 2.25 gallons water for 60 minutes at 200° F
Then sparged with 1 gallon of 170° F water. Added DME for an additional 30 minutes at 200° F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.124 2.25 gallons
3.5 lb. Light malt extract
3 lb. Light dry malt extract
use Irish Moss the last 5 minutes of the boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.7% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Hallertauer Hersbrucker (4% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs Southern German Lager Yeast
Log: 1 week primary fermenter and 4 weeks in a secondary fermenter
Carbonation: Bottle conditioned
