Columbia Dunkel

This was an experiment with the new bulk Munich extract at the
homebrew store. I also had some Weyermans Carafa malt so I through
it in.

Bitterness: 22 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Grain: 0.50 lb. Belgian CaraMunich
0.50 lb. Belgian CaraVienne
.25 lb. German chocolate (Dehusked)
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.078 3.5 gallons
7 lb. Munich malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Hallertauer Tradition (5.6% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer Tradition (5.6% AA, 10 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 10 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer Tradition (aroma)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs German Lager that was one week old. No starter.
Log: 2 week primary at 50° ,one month (out of town on business) secondary
at 45°. Lagered one month at 35°.
Tasting: Tettnanger and Tradition blend well together but I am open to other
character blends.
