Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster

I brewed this recipe in my early stages of brewing. It will take a LONG TIME to condition, so put it back and be ready to reap the rewards!

Brewer: Tinman Email: carykirkmeyer@yahoo.com

OG: 1.085 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 9.5% v/v (7.4% w/w)
Water: Used plain ol' city water

Hops: 1.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Pitched 1.5 pkg. of Safale 05. Safale didn't like that high gravity, so after 24 hrs repitched 1 pkg. of Nottingham. Added 1/2 pkg of Safale05 at secondary. All were rehydrated before pitching.
Log: 1 week in primary,1 week in secondary.70 degree average temp.
Carbonation: 2.5 volumes Dried Malt Extract: 6.95 oz. for 4.5 gallons @ 70°F
Also added 1/4 cup hersheys chocolate powder to priming ingredients
Tasting: This is a beer that homebrewers love. It possesses so many flavors, your mouth stumbles for a few seconds while it tries to process. I really don't like the maris otter, but with this boldness it works well.I brewed this on 8-29-09 and didn't taste first bottle until the new year, and it could stand to go a little longer.
