Leftover's Brown

suprisingly smooth even for the non-dark drinker
used all the leftovers and ended up with a great
tasting beer

Type: Partial mash Size: 6 gallons
Color:
63 HCU (~25 SRM)
Bitterness: 20 IBU
OG: 1.042 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.1% v/v (3.2% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 10L
1 lb. American chocolate
8 oz. Flaked barley
1 lb. Flaked corn
1 lb. American 2-row
Mash: 80% efficiency
start with cold water brought grain to 150 for 30 min.
170 for 15 min filter then sparge into boiling pot
Boil: 1 hr minutes SG 1.050 5 gallons
2 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Rice extract
8 oz. Corn sugar
add irish moss 1tsp and willimet hops last 5 min
1tblsp geletan also
Hops: 1/2 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1/8 oz. Galena (13% AA, 45 min.)
1/2 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.)
1/8 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 15 min.)
1/8 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: wyeast # 1968 or #1056
Log: ferment 7 days rack with 3/4 cup corn sugar in secondary
Tasting: exelent beer for throwing in all the leftovers might try some honey
next time
