The Lighter Side

Our second stab at lagering. The first light lager. Aged for a long time.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
5 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 14 IBU
OG: 1.037 FG: 1.005
Alcohol: 4.1% v/v (3.2% w/w)
Grain: 2 oz. American crystal 20L
2 oz. Flaked barley
Steep: Put grains in nylon bag. Bring water to and hold between 150-160. Steep for 15 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.037 5 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Rice extract
Irish Moss added for the last 15 minutes.
Hops: .5 oz. Cascade (4.99% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Saaz (3.7% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Saaz (3.7% AA, 15 min.)
.25 oz. Saaz (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast #2007 Pilsen
Log: Brewed 3/4/00
OG = 1.04
Bottled 5/13/00
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Corn Sugar: 3.76 oz. for 5 gallons @ 50°F
