CR's Scotch Ale

This is a straight forward approach to making an excellent beer.
Not for Hop-Heads, but a great sipping beer to be served cool in
a nip-sized glass.

Type: Partial mash Size: 3 gallons
Color:
28 HCU (~15 SRM)
Bitterness: 33 IBU
OG: 1.099 FG: 1.030
Alcohol: 8.9% v/v (7.0% w/w)
Water: None - used tap water that is neither hard nor soft.
Grain: 5 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. American crystal 20L
1 lb. Peated Malt
Mash: 70% efficiency
Single infusion mash at 153 deg. F. for 60 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.090 3.3 gallons
3.3 lb. Amber malt extract
1 tsp. Irish Moss added with 10 minutes left in the boil.
Hops: .5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Edinburgh Ale Yeast
