If It's Not Scottish It's Crap Ale

I like a malty, full-bodied beer, so here my
version of the Scottish Ale. I added aromatic
malt (mashed a bit high for extra body) to kick
up the maltiness. Come back for the review in
a couple of weeks.

Brewer: Shawn Mansfield Email: -

21 HCU (~12 SRM)
Bitterness: 13 IBU
OG: 1.047 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 5.1% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. Belgian aromatic
4 oz. American crystal 60L
4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
1 oz. American black patent
Mash: 75% efficiency
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.087 3.0 gallons
5 lb. Light malt extract

Tasting: Very tasty, I had a couple of friends say it was the best beer they had, it reminded one of her graduate school experience in Colorado in the 1990's. Since my wife likes it so well, it will become one of my regular beers.
