Endo APA

Brewed for sessioning after 2011 mountain biking excursions, at 6.7% it's not so much a session beer, but more of a recovery program. Because there's nothing like a big hoppy APA to quench your thirst and numb those sore quads after pedaling some rugged singletrack. \m/

12 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 84 IBU
OG: 1.064 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 6.7% v/v (5.3% w/w)
Water: 2 tsp gypsum, 1 TBS 5.2 Stabilizer
Grain: 10 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. German Light Munich
1 lb. American crystal 40L
Mash: 80% efficiency
1.3 quart per pound at 153F for 60 minutes, 1 gallon concoction added to 1 gallon boiling water, reintroduce to mash to mash out at 165F. Sparge with 170F water to collect 7.5 gal in brewpot.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.047 7.5 gallons
Hops: 1 oz. Falconer's Flight (Blend) (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Falconer's Flight (Blend) (10.5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Falconer's Flight (Blend) (10.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Falconer's Flight (Blend) (aroma)
Yeast: Danstar Nottingham
Log: Primary at 60-64F til activity stops, then rack to secondary adding 1 oz Falconer's Flight hops. Allow 2 weeks secondary then rack to keg.
Carbonation: 2.5 volumes Keg: 12.3 psi @ 40°F
