Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
19 HCU (~11 SRM)
Bitterness: 32 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 5.1% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Water: Purified tap water.
Grain: 16 oz. American crystal 60L
Steep: Steep grains for 30 minutes @ 150 degrees in 1 gallon of water
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.095 3 gallons
6 lb. Light dry malt extract
Two teaspoons of Irish moss and 2 tea spoons of heading agent last fifteen minutes of the boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Galena (11.7% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Northern Brewer (6.9% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. galena (aroma)
Yeast: Pitch White labs WP005 after making starter.
Log: Beer fermented @ 68 degrees for 5 days. Rack to secondary and allow 2 weeks of conditioning.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup of corn sugar
Tasting: Outstanding flavor. Tasted somewhat similar to a Sierra Nevada pale Ale. Very smooth with outstanding Hop character.
